First Olive Harvest

The last week of October was our first Olive harvest. This was certainly a learning experience for all involved. We did not do a very good job documenting the process but promise to do a better job next year.

Bottom line is we harvested 1600+ kilograms of olives which yielded 250 liters of extra virgin olive oil. The entire proess took six days with labor coming from our trusted master gardner and friends who graciously donated their time for some fun in the sun! Each of the white bags below holds about 35 kilograms of olives

Our olives were pressed at Finca Morote, which is one of the oldest olive mills in southern Spain.
